Columbia Road Clay: Pottery Showcase

My cobalt lithography ceramics is currently available to view and purchase at Columbia Road Clay. Take your opportunity to look at my pots in real life, while they are still available. Most of the pieces on show are one-offs from the last couple of years, exploring all sorts of subjects, themes and undercurrents of my mind.

I will be around on Sunday, 20 April, 10am – 3pm, please come by to say hi, and to see what I’ve been up to. There are also some recent pieces from 2025, that are opening the new themes that I am exploring both in vessel making and sculpture, I’d love to show them to you.

This is a serendipitous coming together and yet in each maker’s work there is shared tactile sensuousness, whether it is the appreciation of a fleshy cherubic cheek found only on a 18th century gravestone, a geometric meander as a means of escape or the detailed folds of a crinkled single-use toiletry immortalised in porcelain. These pots beckon to be held. Some by an incessant smoothing to a lustrous glow, others by a slippery glaze mimicking a freshly steamed momo. Others conjure images on their surfaces that bring forth a nostalgic flavour, a prickling sensation that the image seen might obscure more than it reveals. There is sweet, salty something for all tastes.
